My name is Åke Olofsson from Bjuråker, Sweden. I want to introduce a new machine with more than one application area. As young I wanted to become a professional engine constructor and read some subjects within the field. But for some reasons I could not realise my intention, so my profession became something else. However I have kept my interest and studied the dynamics of the combustion engine as an amateur. The result of that became, besides a combustion engine, a new machine with more than one application area e.g. compressor, air engine and vacuum pump. My intention has been to replace the crank gear of the traditional piston engine with a rotating piston. The advantage of that is a better utilisation of the power that affects the piston. The easiest way to explain is to compare with a bike when riding on a road upwards. When a pedal is in its highest position it corresponds to an engine piston when the combustion starts. In that position you are not able to tramp with maximum power until half way down. The torque is the best there. In a traditional piston engine the combustion pressure is as highest when the torque is the almost zero. Because of that much energy is lost. It is as if striking with a large hammer on the pedal in the upper position.Many has been thinking of rotating pistons, for instance the German engineer Felix Wankel. But his engine, the Wankel engine, though coming farthest in development among others, has had large sealing problems making it very expensive. For that reason it has not got that big market. The traditional piston engine has gone through a long development towards what it is today, and still there is room for some improvements concerning fuel consumption and alternative fuels. But it is not that energy effective and there is a lot of research about alternative engines and alternative fuels. The thought behind the Aucon engine is that it would be developed to an alternative engine and give a competitive potential against better environment. Therefore there is a great need of resources concerning venture capital, sponsors, experts and co-operation to realise the idea. This is an invitation to participate in this project. |
